I love my essential oil diffuser’s because they help put moisture into the dry Colorado air. But, I have several cute wax warmers all over the house. So, I’m going to make my own wax melts using essential oils.
Here are a couple of ways to do it.
Simply put 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in your wax melt holder, and 8-10 drops of your favorite essential oil, or essential oil blend.
But, if you would like to make wax molds for future use, or to give as a gift, you can easily make your own at home.
You will need:
- You can use regular Paraffin Wax, Bees Wax , or Soy Wax.
- Essential Oils, any flavor/blend you choose.
- Wax Melt Clamshells, or an old ice cube tray.
Directions:
- To fill one mold (six spaces), melt ¼ pound of candle wax.
- Melt it in a double boiler. Do not melt over direct heat.
- When the wax has melted completely, stir in 20 drops essential oil and pour into the mold.
- Let the wax harden completely and carefully remove from the mold, separating the cubes to use in the warmer.
